Meet the Facilitators

Dr. Lynette Dornton, AuD

Lynette is a licensed audiologist in Manatee County who personally lives with tinnitus. She knows firsthand how frustrating—and at times even traumatic—tinnitus and hearing loss can be.

When she discovered there was no local support group for people living with tinnitus, she decided to create one with the support of trusted friends and colleagues. Her vision is to provide a safe, welcoming space where people can come together, share experiences, and find hope and healing—no matter where they receive their hearing care.

Shelly Hayes, BS

Shelly holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration and has worked as an audiology assistant for over five years. In her clinical role, she works daily with tinnitus patients, offering support, guidance, and tips and tricks she has learned in group.

Shelly has been an integral part of the support group since it’s founding over two years ago. As co-facilitator of the support group, Shelly keeps everything running smoothly by managing communication, organizing materials, and handling the many details that ensure our meetings remain consistent and welcoming. Her dedication behind the scenes makes it possible for the group to thrive
